Basse Maison, 1948 to today

Eleven aerial views of the same 1.2 × 1.2 km of ground around the ND994 tail-section site (Essoyes, lieu-dit Basse Maison), aligned to one grid. Flip, swipe or flicker between years and drop marks on anything that stands out; marks stay put as you change years.

Hover or tap the photo for grid square, coordinates and distance from the tail-site pin.

Sources: IGN (Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière) historical aerial photographs and ortho mosaics, via Géoplateforme. Single-frame years (1948–1995) were aligned by matching hundreds of small patches against the neighbouring year; median error 1.3–1.5 m in the matched area, a few metres more at the edges and on steep slopes, because uncorrected frames carry terrain distortion. Mosaic years are IGN's own orthorectified product. 1963 and 1977 frames were checked and dropped: despite IGN's index, neither covers this spot.
